Introduction to Library Information Services:
The Library Information Services at our university was established in 1997 under the name “Electronic Computing Center” and merged with the library in 2018 to form the “Library Information Services.”
As the hub of our university’s digital transformation, we are dedicated to developing an e-campus and digitizing office administrative operations to enhance the teaching environment and quality. Our main tasks include planning, developing, and managing campus-wide computer software, hardware, and network resources. We provide support for information instruction, research and development, and promote computerization of administrative affairs. By offering diverse services such as network services, campus information system development, and teaching support, we strive to meet the diverse needs of our students and faculty, establish a more integrated campus information automation system, and improve the efficiency of electronic administrative operations.
In recent years, with the increasing trend of digitizing administrative processes in various units, the role of Library Information Services has become increasingly important. We are committed to mastering the application and development of information technology, introducing timely upgrades to network system services on campus, and providing staff and students with stable, fast, and secure network systems and computerized environments. We aim to construct an information system centered around students, a comprehensive platform for recording teachers’ teaching processes, a digital learning environment, and a decision analysis system for school administrators. With user-friendly, simplified, and consistent design interfaces, we aim to connect all smart platforms and create a digitally ubiquitous information service campus.
Development goals of Library Information Services:
Library Information Services encompasses two working groups responsible for its main tasks: the “Software Development Team” and the “System Development Team.” Important responsibilities include coordinating and planning campus-wide computer and network resources, managing administrative computerization, and developing various administrative information systems. We compile various system user manuals, organize information education and training for faculty, staff, and students, support information promotion and E-Learning instruction, manage campus computer networks, and maintain computer classrooms. Our aim is to promote the overall digitization of campus affairs to facilitate convenience and security in the campus network.
Task Groups of Library Information Services:
Software Development Group:
Responsible for the development of administrative systems and support in planning administrative computerization related tasks, quickly meeting the e-operation needs of various units. System Development Group: Responsible for planning, building, and maintaining campus and external network infrastructure, as well as maintaining various large-scale hosts, servers, and network management devices. Provide support for administrative tasks, computer lab management, software consultation, information services, and maintenance of personal computer hardware and peripherals throughout the university. Support the maintenance of the E-Learning teaching platform. All equipment provided by Library Information Services is measured by the principle of “optimization” to create a smart network information campus throughout the university, achieving information sharing and improving teaching, research, and administrative efficiency. To create a digital campus, we are committed to establishing a wireless internet environment, campus-wide wireless broadband network, and integrating administrative computerization services. Our aim is to establish Library Information Services as a user-oriented information resource and teaching support center in the e-era, focused on teaching, research, and user needs.
Information Security Policy:
The purpose of the Information Security Policy is to protect the information assets of Feng Chia University. All members of the university are obliged to assist in the promotion of information security to ensure the smooth implementation and execution of information security mechanisms. This policy and its related content are approved by the Information and Security Management Committee and implemented upon approval by the university president, and any revisions follow the same process.
Objectives of the Information Security Policy:
Purpose: The purpose of the Information Security Policy is to protect the information assets of Feng Chia University. All members of the university are obliged to assist in the promotion of information security to ensure the smooth implementation and execution of information security mechanisms.

2.1 Protect the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and accountability of information.
2.2 Maintain the continuous operation of information systems.
2.3 Protect information security and prevent unauthorized access.
2.4 Prevent hacking, virus intrusion, and human errors.
2.5 Maintain the security of physical environments.
Responsibilities:
3.1 The university’s management establishes and reviews this policy.
3.2 Information security managers implement this policy through appropriate standards and procedures.
3.3 All personnel and outsourced service providers are required to adhere to relevant security management procedures to maintain information security.
3.4 All personnel have a responsibility to report information security incidents and any identified vulnerabilities.
Review: This policy should be reviewed at least once a year to reflect the latest developments in government regulations, technology, and business, ensuring the university’s sustainable operation capability.
Implementation: This policy and its related content are approved by the “Information and Security Management Committee” and implemented upon approval by the university president, and any revisions follow the same process.
ISO27001 Certification
Our department achieved the BSI International Security Certification ISO27001 in February 2008. In February 2009, we successfully renewed our ISO27001 certification.
In May 2009, we passed the Ministry of Education’s information security certification process and successfully obtained the Ministry of Education’s information security certification.
In February 2010, we passed the ISO27001 recertification. In June 2010, we conducted an internal audit of ISO information security.
In September 2014, we passed the verification for the revised version ISO 27001:2013.
