Open source code movement – In the past ten years, an open source code (Open Source) movement has emerged in the computer software industry around the world. This move has attracted the attention of governments around the world, because it can greatly reduce the cost of using software, thereby enhancing industry competition force. In recent years, Taiwan’s free software-related industries and various discussion groups have also continued to rise.
The concept of free software was proposed by Richard Stallman of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He believes that free software is the common wealth of all mankind and should be freely spread. But many people mistakenly think it is “free software”. In fact, Free in English in free software represents the openness of free software that can be freely delivered, rather than “free” in terms of cost.
